Do you want to know the number one secret to selling your book, assuming you did a great job writing it in the first place?
The secret that can skyrocket your book to number one sales on Amazon during launch and after?
The answer is reviews, reviews, reviews. In this video, I'm going to show you exactly how to get those reviews ethically and in compliance with Amazon.
And I'll share the method I'm personally using right now to hit my goal of 100 plus reviews for my book. Chat GPT, AI Book Writing Formula.
So if you're new to my podcast, my name is Caryl Westmore and I'm an AI book coach and mentor helping non fiction writers to write their books to boost their business, attract clients, and have the kudos [00:01:00] of a best selling book on Amazon. So, if you want tips, tools, and interviews, and frank advice from someone like me who's actually doing this work, then make sure you subscribe to my channel.
So, the question my clients often ask is, Caryl I've written my book, and you've helped me write it, and I'm about to publish it, will it get sales? The answer is yes, if you take the advice that I share in my book, Chat GPT, AI Book Writing Formula, Step 9. and ignite, buzz, launch, and promote your book. It all begins with reviews.
In that chapter, I do talk about the advanced reader team and putting a request in your book for reviews, but beyond that, and what I'm going to share in this video today, is why reviews are like winning an Oscar. So there are some review sites that I mention in my book, along with having an advanced reader team, and [00:02:00] they are Pubby, NetGalley, and Reader's Favorite.
But I've recently discovered Book Bounty, and in this video I'm going to show you how I'm using it to build up my reviews, hopefully to 100 which I think is the equivalent of winning an Oscar. So stay with me, I'll show you inside Book Bounty how I use it and how you can use it for 15 days for free and get your first 5 or 6 reviews.
So let's dive in. ANORA just won big at the Oscars in 2025. Best Picture. Best Director. Best Actress. And as an indie author, I couldn't help wondering, Isn't that just like hitting 100 book reviews on Amazon?
It's gold! When I launched this book, ChatGPT AI Book Writing Formula, last year it hit number one [00:03:00] bestseller in four Categories over four weeks, despite having only 15 reviews at the start. Of course, I chose a very interesting topic that people are searching for, and it's a topic I know well. How to write and publish your book in nine steps, but assisted by AI, ChatGPT.
But there's something every indie author needs to remember. Selling a book and launching it to number one is not enough. We're in it for the long game. And I found a way to get verified Amazon compliant reviews, which I will share with you in this video. And that's without awkwardly begging your friends and people on social media, complete strangers, because....
Amazon does not allow you to get your close friends and family to review. So what do you do? Stay with me and I'll dive into the site called Book Bounty.
But first, let me tell you eight ways [00:04:00] that getting 100 Amazon book reviews is like an Oscar.
Number one, visibility and credibility. Just like an Oscar will help tickets sell like in the millions for an Anora so getting more book reviews will help your book gain the visibility and credibility that you need.
Number two, industry validation matters. Books with 100 plus reviews are taken seriously, just like award winning films.
Number three, the snowball effect. The more people review, the more Amazon's logarithm promotes your book.
Number four, a strong opening is key. Just like Oscar winning films build buzz, book reviews fuel success from day one and ongoing.
Number five, a logarithms love engagement. Amazon rewards books that get reviews. And that means you don't even have to buy ads. Although I'm sure they would [00:05:00] like you to, to push your book.
Number six, fans need a nudge to take action. Most people forget to leave reviews unless prompted, even though they're well meaning.
Number seven, competition is fierce. Stand out with solid. and numerous reviews.
Number eight, the right support matters. That's why I say that Book Bounty is an Oscar winner for your books when it comes to reviews.
How Book Bounty works and why it's a game changer. I'm now using Book Bounty and so far I'm impressed. What it does is connect books to real engaged readers who leave reviews. It's Amazon compliant, no sketchy practices, and there's a 15 day free trial where in the time I was free, I already got six amazing verified reviews.
[00:06:00] So if you struggle to get reviews, this might be exactly what you need. Links in the shownotes.
So let me share my screen and show you how it works. At the website of Book Bounty, you'll see Get reviews for your books fast and simple. Connect. Review. Succeed. You're joining a community of passionate publishers and authors who strive for authentic, honest reviews.
Book Bounty's goal is to help drive growth and success in your publishing journey. So you can either get started or see how it works. How simple is it? You sign up, create your Book Bounty account, and join the community who are here to support each other. You gain instant access. You become a reviewing bounty hunter.
I love the words they use. So then you submit your book or books that you want reviewed to the site by filling out your book's details. And then all you need to do is put out a review bounty contract on your [00:07:00] book to start receiving honest reviews from other authors and publishers supporting one another.
Now this is completely anonymous without you ever knowing who reviewed your book. You choose a book, complete the bounty, which I'll show you with one of my books, how it's done, and then post your honest review to Amazon.
I want to give you a bird's eye view of how it works and how easy it is to see not only how to upload your book, which I've done there, and to start a review bounty, how easy it is to start a new bounty, turnaround time you want, and what price you will be asking your reviewer to buy it for or to get it free of promotion.
Now I often use my current price 4. 99, so that means I get genuine reviews by verified purchasers on Amazon. But you can, if you're necessary, do a free promotion, [00:08:00] or if you're on special, a 0. 99 promotion, and then you send it to the bounty and they start looking for people to review. But they're always anonymous reviews.
So now, how do you choose a book that you want to review to gain points? You can see I've gone to minus points here. You have a huge choice. Now I like self help books because that's my genre and I like to read what other people are saying about keeping calm; co parenting with a narcissist etc because I have clients who are in that category.
So I usually choose a book that I'm really interested in reading. But you can also look for free downloads only. Thrive with Osteoporosis, and Puberty Guide for Teen Girls. So those are free. So you will rack up less points. You can see at a glance that if I choose this book, when it will be due, the number of points I'll get, and that it's a free promotion.
Now you see there's some books in Spanish, but you will find a lot of books. in English [00:09:00] to choose from. It is a huge amount of books there. Then I sometimes say, well, what's going to get me the highest bounties, the most points to fill up my point library so that I can have more book reviews. So this one here will cost me 4.99, but I'll get 2,580 Bounty points, and so it's a weighing up. I do buy some books for 4. 99 because you get the most points.
Healing the heartbreak and grief of pet loss, the money skills for teens... the amount of books and the bounties are amazing. And immediately you can see at a glance what books do you have by what date are you expected to hand it in.
There's an extra thing that they do with the bounty, they ask you to Paste the review into Book Bounty so they can see that you've written a decent review. Do you know how many times people have written, one line and think it's a review? But not on Book Bounty! I usually write about [00:10:00] 200 words because I genuinely want to read and review the book.
And then at the end, you then put the review URL so that they can check that your review is live. Fantastic, fantastic opportunity to build up your points so that your books can be reviewed by other people.
So now let's jump over to Amazon where you can see my book and see how the reviews are doing. So far I've got 63 reviews and what's interesting is that Amazon have now selecting what customers say by AI.
And they've written: “customers found the book helpful and easy to follow with detailed instructions and step by step strategies for using ChatGPT. Moreover, they appreciate its practical guide to using AI for writing non fiction books, with one customer noting how it integrates traditional writing techniques.
And there you can see [00:11:00] some of the latest reviews from some of the people I don't know; some have put their names there. This lady here says it's an incredibly helpful guide for anyone looking to streamline the book writing process using AI. With practical strategies and an easy to follow way, makes it perfect for both beginners and experienced writers.
Now this gives me a lot of pleasure because I know people have been reading the book. Oh look, there are some four star and someone it seems to have given it a Three star review. And that is someone who said it's a bit too general. Okay, I won't reply to that person because that's her view.
But I'm wondering, is she someone who actually downloaded the free prompt sheet that goes with the book?
So how does that seem to you? Will you be using something similar? To review your books, have you had problems getting book reviews? And how might this help you? As you can see, I'm using Book Bounty and I'm impressed.
What it does, it connects [00:12:00] books to real, engaged readers who leave reviews… genuine reviews, and reviews that aren't just skimpy one sentences. I want you to go and check out Book Bounty, so I've left a link in the show notes, and yes, it is an affiliate link, because I'm genuinely trying this out, and I'm genuinely impressed.
In fact, I've reached out to the creator. of Book Bounty, Kevin Chertkow, to ask him to be a guest on the podcast. So that's how involved I am with using Book Bounty and I hope this video has helped you double think, rethink how you can amp up even old books that have been around a long time with fresh book reviews.
Thank you.
