"Not good enough” isn’t who you are—it's a learned pattern from your past.
Brad Yates explains how EFT Tapping helps you break free.

In this episode of the Tap Into Your Best Life EFT Series, I sit down with EFT Tapping expert Brad Yates to explore one of the most common and painful inner blocks we all face: unworthiness.

This is not a guided tapping session. It’s an honest, insightful conversation about why tapping works—and how it helps release the emotional patterns that keep us playing small.
Brad says it's the number one issue he sees over and over again in his 25+ years of tapping work—and it may surprise you.

Brad Yates is one of the featured voices in the new global co-authored book, Tap Into Your Best Life: EFT Tapping Stories of Real-Life Transformation and Healing. He features alongside 30 powerful practitioners from around the world sharing tapping breakthroughs.

The book is aligned with "Global Tapping Stories Day," April 17, a worldwide movement celebrating practitioners and ordinary people to share their stories of hope, healing and transformation thanks to Tapping.

You can learn more about the book and Global Tapping Day below.

In this episode

We explore:

• What happened when Brad received 300 nasty negative comments—and why he kept going (and tapping)
• Why the world needs EFT tapping more than ever (or, as Brad says, why he  suggests we first tap on peace within ourselves)

He also reveals his daily morning routine (which includes tapping!) and how he makes his videos for his popular YT channel @tapwithbrad.

Brad Yates – Tap Into Your Best Life Book Series Podcast Interview

"Not Good Enough?" Brad Yates on how EFT Tapping help you with Resistance and Imposter Syndrome.

Hi, I’m Caryl Westmore, lead editor and publisher of the global collection of stories Tap Into Your Best Life.

In this EFT Tapping series we spotlight our authors and explore the real-life transformations behind their chapters.

Today it’s my pleasure to introduce Brad Yates.

Brad is one of the world’s best-known EFT teachers. I like to call him the EFT Wizard. He has more than 400,000 subscribers and over 1,700 videos on his YouTube channel, Tap with Brad.

Most importantly for this conversation, he is a featured voice in our book Tap Into Your Best Life.

Welcome, Brad.

The Michelangelo Metaphor

Brad explains that his favorite piece of art is Michelangelo’s statue of David.

Michelangelo once said that the statue already existed inside the marble. His job was simply to chip away everything that didn’t belong.

Brad believes this is a beautiful metaphor for what we do with EFT tapping.

The best version of ourselves is already there.

Our best self — the version of us that makes great choices, takes powerful actions, and creates a fulfilling life — already exists beneath the surface.

But over time we accumulate layers of doubt, fear, and feelings of unworthiness.

Tapping helps chip away that excess marble so the masterpiece underneath can be revealed.

And from that place, we create our best life.

Why We Resist What We Want

Caryl asks why we often resist having what we say we want.

Brad explains that whenever we don’t have something we consciously desire, resistance is usually involved.

That resistance shows up as stress.

It’s based on old programming — beliefs we formed earlier in life about why we shouldn’t have what we want.

Why shouldn’t I have better health?

Why shouldn’t I have better relationships?

Why shouldn’t I have more abundance?

Our conscious mind may want success, happiness, or prosperity.

But our subconscious mind may still carry fears.

Fears that others will judge us.
Fears that people will reject us.
Or beliefs that success isn’t safe.

Our conscious mind is only a small percentage of our thinking.

The rest of our programming operates below the surface.

That’s why we sometimes sabotage ourselves.

We may avoid taking actions that would move us forward.

Or we may take actions that move us in the opposite direction.

Tapping helps calm the stress response so we can examine those hidden beliefs and release them.

The Number One Issue Brad Sees

After more than twenty-five years of working with people, Brad says one issue appears again and again.

Unworthiness.

Many people carry a deep belief that they are not good enough.

If someone believes they are not worthy of success or recognition, they will struggle to step forward and share their gifts.

These beliefs often originate from childhood experiences.

A teacher may criticize a student in front of the class.

A parent may express disappointment.

Or someone may laugh when we try to express ourselves.

In those moments, a child may interpret the experience as proof that something is wrong with them.

Over time, those messages accumulate like layers of marble covering the masterpiece inside.

Why Sharing Your Story Matters

Caryl reflects on how many contributors in Tap Into Your Best Life never imagined they would write a book.

But when people feel passionate about sharing their story, something shifts.

With encouragement and support, they begin to step forward.

Their voices become part of something larger.

Brad agrees.

He believes everyone has something valuable to share.

Sometimes a message will help one person.

Sometimes it will reach millions.

But the numbers are not what matter.

What matters is allowing ourselves to share.

Brad likes to say he is a “gift un-wrapper.”

Every person on this planet is a gift wrapped in layers of fear, doubt, and conditioning.

His role is simply to help unwrap those gifts so the world can receive them.

The Facebook Story

Brad shares a memorable experience when Facebook promoted one of his tapping videos.

The video was suddenly pushed out to people who had never seen EFT before.

Many viewers had no idea what tapping was.

They simply saw a man tapping on his face.

Some people responded with curiosity.

Others responded with harsh criticism.

Brad received hundreds of negative comments.

But at the same time, he gained thousands of new followers.

Many viewers wrote messages saying:

“I don’t know what you’re doing, but I feel better.”

Brad says he was willing to endure criticism if it meant helping thousands of people discover something that could improve their lives.

Why the World Needs Tapping

Caryl asks Brad why tools like EFT are so valuable today.

Brad explains that we live in an information age where people are constantly bombarded with stressful news and alarming messages.

Our phones deliver endless reminders of everything that is going wrong in the world.

This constant exposure to stress keeps our nervous systems activated.

Stress hormones like cortisol flood the body.

Our immune system weakens.

Our ability to think clearly diminishes.

When stress overwhelms the brain, the rational part of our mind becomes less active.

Instead of finding solutions, we react emotionally.

EFT tapping helps calm the nervous system.

It allows us to step out of stress and return to clarity.

From that calmer place, we can respond more wisely and take constructive action.

Cultivating Peace

Brad shares that one of his guiding principles is cultivating peace.

He often reflects on a quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that.”

Brad believes change begins within.

If we want to create peace in the world, we must first cultivate peace inside ourselves.

That means clearing fear, anger, and resentment so we can respond to challenges from a place of clarity and compassion.

Brad’s Morning Routine

Each morning Brad follows a routine that includes stretching, meditation, and visualization.

He imagines healing light flowing through him and out into the world.

He consciously sends positive energy to family, friends, neighbors, and even people he finds difficult.

His intention is to become an instrument of peace.

Whenever fear or resistance arises, he uses tapping to clear it.

Showing Up and Sharing Your Gifts

Brad explains that when he first started posting videos on YouTube, he had no grand plan.

He simply wanted to share something helpful.

He recorded a video called Tap of the Morning.

Then another idea appeared.

And another.

Over time those videos grew into a library of more than 1,700 tapping sessions watched by millions of people.

Brad says he simply trusted that if an idea felt helpful, it was worth sharing.

Someone, somewhere, might benefit from it.

Closing

Caryl thanks Brad for sharing his wisdom and for contributing to Tap Into Your Best Life.

Brad expresses his appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the book.

If something in this conversation resonated with you — especially around unworthiness or holding yourself back — consider sharing this episode with someone who may need to hear it.

Because transformation often begins when we stop staying silent.
